Jewelry Designer in Boise, ID

Meet Allie, Your Boise-Area Jewelry Designer

If you searched for a jewelry designer near you, Allie is likely the closest one who is also the owner, a fifth-generation jeweler, and trained GIA diamond specialist. She designs one-of-a-kind pieces at Copper Canary Fine Jewelry in Meridian, Idaho — about 15 minutes from downtown Boise.

Custom engagement rings, heirloom redesigns, wedding bands, pendants and everyday fine jewelry, for clients across Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Nampa and the wider Treasure Valley. Every piece starts with a conversation, not a catalog.

Allie’s Background & Expertise

Allie spent years in the fashion industry: a degree in fashion merchandising, working with several well-known large designer brands and their showrooms, and several years as a menswear stylist at Nordstrom.

She then spent 12 years apprenticing under her father, Perry Coles, a GIA gemologist with 50 years in the trade, learning gemstones, settings, metal behavior and the antique eras most jewelers never touch.

Allie has both the eye to know how the jewelry will look on you, and the knowledge of your piece to stand the test of time. In the Treasure Valley, that combination is genuinely hard to find! And you won’t find it anywhere else but Copper Canary Fine Jewelry in Meridian.

How Allie Designs Your Piece

Step 1 – She Starts With You, Learning About You

The first appointment is a conversation about your lifestyle; what you wear, what jewelry sits in your drawer, appropriate proportions, and your budget. This is the styling background doing its work, and it’s why her pieces get worn instead of stored.

Step 2 – Stones and Metals, Explained Honestly

GIA-trained guidance on natural and antique diamonds, colored gemstones, recycled stones and metal choice; including what genuinely matters for durability.

Step 3 – Sketch and 3D Rendering

We may start with concept designs or jump right into a CAD rendering.

Step 4 – Handcrafted in Europe

Our pieces are made by a small group of European workshops, led by our longtime partner in Italy. They are artisans in the truest sense: unmatched attention to detail, and a craft that has been handed down rather than taught. Before a piece ever reaches you, it has passed through many skilled hands.

Step 5 – The Reveal

Your piece arrives finished. The last step is the best one: you come in, and Allie puts it in your hands for the first time.

  • Fifth-generation jeweler — a family trade line running back to 1885 in Chicago

  • GIA diamond certified, with 12 years apprenticing under a 50-year GIA gemologist

  • Double bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising and business

  • Years working with several large designer brands and their showrooms

  • Several years as a menswear stylist at Nordstrom

  • Deep fluency in seven antique jewelry eras, Georgian through Retro

  • Co-Designed Copper Canary’s 7,300 sq ft European inspired showroom

Most jewelry stores hand you a catalog. Allie hands you her eye for design and passion for custom jewelry design.
