We welcome all types of gold and platinum fine jewelry including antique, estate, and modern items in any condition. Copper Canary also evaluates contemporary fine jewelry that is no longer worn, such as engagement rings, wedding bands, and any natural-colored gemstones.
Sterling Silver
Copper Canary’s antique specialists are uniquely poised to evaluate vintage and antique sterling silver items, including hollowware, flatware and Native American jewelry, to determine fair market value.
Coins
Copper Canary accepts all denominations of early, pre-1964 American coins, including Morgan silver dollars, half dollars, quarters, and dimes.
All types of U.S. gold coins, as well as foreign gold and silver coins can be exchanged or evaluated at Copper Canary.
How to Prepare & What to Expect During Your Visit

Ask yourself the following:
Do you own the item?
We only accept items that you own, and cannot accept items that are being exchanged or sold on another person’s behalf.
If there are gemstones present, are they earth mined or lab grown?
We only accept earth-mined gemstones or genuine antique synthetics. We can, however, still look at the value of the metal that the stone is set in.
What outcome are you looking for?
If you are looking to part with your valuables, Copper Canary’s exchange and trade-in program is going to be a great option. If you are interested in receiving an appraisal for insurance purposes, this is not a service that we currently offer, but we are happy to refer you to a local appraiser.

Prepare Your Items
Preparing your items doesn’t take as much work as it may sound. If you have a large assortment of jewelry that may be a mix of costume and fine jewelry, feel free to bring in the entire collection. You do not need to get the jewelry cleaned or repaired before bringing it in. We can help you sort through what you have. For particular items, such as fine artwork, antique art glass, and antique porcelain, please give our store a call at (208) 617 - 3577 to see if we are accepting such items.

At The Appointment
At Copper Canary, the discretion of your circumstances is important to us. Oftentimes, broken engagements, divorce, or falling on hard times are reasons that fine jewelry and valuables are brought to us. We have a conference room in which we can assess your item(s) to ensure privacy. During your appointment, we assess each item and determine whether or not they are items we can purchase. Any items we don’t purchase will be handed back to you. We will then offer you a buy or trade-in value for the items we are interested in purchasing.

Things to Keep in Mind When Selling Your Jewelry
Appraisal Value
When selling your jewelry, please keep in mind that you are selling your items not at retail replacement value, but at fair market wholesale pricing as the item is second-hand. Our offer will be different than an appraisal value, which is the full retail replacement cost insured by your insurance company. If you are looking to sell or exchange close or equal to an appraised value, we suggest selling your item privately.
Education
During your appointment, you may learn some interesting things about your treasures. This can range from authenticity, age, and more. In some cases, this can be very exciting and in others, it can be disappointing. Try to come to your appointment with an open mind about what you have in tow.
